ALWYN MORRISON

ALWYN MORRISON

Alwyn Morrison is a singer-songwriter from New York City, “the city that will break your heart,” he sings on his upcoming single. A catchy and poignant song, Morrison’s “The City” captures both the dark side of urban loneliness and the electrifying energy of New York, which makes people “forever wanna stay,” in spite of the city’s many trials. “A year in New York will put you through hell, and lift you up while you hope prayer helps.”

He started his career in the entertainment industry as a music journalist, interviewing Grammy-award winning singer and bassist Esperanza Spalding, three-time Grammy Producer of the Year Jack Antonoff, pop stars like Rita Ora, rock bands the Scissor Sisters, among others.

Alwyn has been writing poems and composing songs since his childhood. But it wasn’t until he started to collaborate with other musicians, after a couple of years of personal hardship, that he began working on his first album. He spent the last year traveling between NYC, LA and Detroit to write and compose with close friends, including producer and guitarist M… (Gwen Stefani, Pablo Alborán, Robbie Williams) and composer and pianist M… (Patti LuPone, Audra McDonald, Sutton Foster).

Morrison plans to release a lot of new music in 2025. With a knack for writing genuine and vulnerable lyrics, Morrison likes to keep it authentic, evident in “The City,” a song filled with guitar riffs, played by M…, and high-energy vocals.
